A set of three wines from our 2019 Winemaker of the Year Dave Phinney (the mastermind behind Orin Swift and The Prisoner).
Includes one bottle each of the following:
2018 8 Years in the Desert Red Blend: An opaque core with a red amethyst rim, the wine opens with ripe raspberry and blackberry, dark plum preserves and hints of black pepper and clove. An entry of heft, the palate is packed with blueberry and sweet black cherry along with touch of fresh herbs—thyme, savory and tarragon. Long on the finish, the ripe tannins, a dash of ash, and notes of black tea round out the wine. Blend of 53% Zinfandel, 23% Syrah, 20% Petite Sirah and 4% Grenache.
2017 Stanton Petite Sirah: This delicious Petite Sirah is one of the most aromatically compelling Petites you’ll ever come across! It oozes a deep, dark black currant taste of blackberry and blueberry with well-integrated spicy flavors, finishing in a hedonistic display of fruit a la Dave Phinney of Orin Swift fame. It is 100% varietal Petite Sirah
2017 The Crane Assembly Disciples: The 2017 Red Disciples is a Zinfandel-based blend made from a core of fruit from the Morisoli and Tofanelli vineyards in Rutherford and Calistoga, respectively. Pliant, silky and super-expressive, the 2017 is flat-out gorgeous. Bright red cherry, red plum and floral notes all add character to this lifted, gracious wine.
