Fortune 1621 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley WSI93 Great dense mouthfeel, inky color. Intense cherry dominant flavors, ripe, fresh clean fruit – firm tannins and great overall structure – Amazing value every vintage!
Marietta Cellars ‘Christo’ North Coast Red Blend WA96 A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah and Viognier, the 2019 Christo has a deep ruby-purple color and alluring scents of blueberry jam and cassis with accents of loamy earth, violet, coffee beans and iron. The full-bodied palate is powerful yet silky, with seamless acidity and gobs of pure violet perfume on the long, layered finish. It’s easy to drink now but offers a decade or more of cellaring potential.
Musella Valpolicella Superiore DOC Red Blend JS91 Aromas of strawberries, cassis, old leather and peppercorn. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. Round and juicy with a slightly sweet-and-sour red currant-like finish. Delicious and laid-back, with some nice funk at the end. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
Burn Cottage ‘Moonlight Race’ Pinot Noir JS95 Lots of boysenberry and strawberry aromas and flavors with an underlying smoky and mineral edge. It’s full and layered with beautiful tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A little tight at the end. Gorgeous and curated.
Estate Notes: Moonlight Race Pinot Noir is created by combining two unique parcels of Pinot Noir, one from the Burn Cottage Vineyard in Lowburn and the second coming off the Burn Cottage Sauvage Vineyard in Bannockburn. Burn Cottage believes it captures the essence of Central Otago Pinot Noir, with concentrated dark and red berry fruit flavors with a supple texture and fine tannins.
Branham ‘Resolution’ Rockpile Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon Resolution fruit comes from the vineyards at Branham Obsidian in Napa Valley as well as two other small lots. The result is an affordable cab from the great AVA. “The Res.”, as we call, it is full bodied, rich, and exquisitely balanced with aromas of dark berries, mocha and spice on the nose. Ready to drink now, yet with the pedigree to age gracefully. Petite Verdot and Merlot grapes are blended with the cabernet sauvignon to, well, create a perfect Resolution. 900 cases produced.
Paul Autard Cotes du Rhone WSI93+ The nose reveals scents of garrigue and licorice, the palate is on raspberries and cherries with its lingering and peppery finish. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre.
