Ayres welcomed this picture perfect growing season with open arms! Mother Nature over-achieved with this vintage, allowing them to make an abundance of gorgeous Pinot Noir. You will notice both red and dark fruit profiles: dark cherry, boysenberry, and blueberry come to mind. You will also appreciate spices such as cinnamon and clove. This fruit forward wine also delivers a delicious dose of earthiness.
Winemaker Brad McLeroy honed his winemaking skills at Domaine Drouhin Oregon under the direction of Veronique Drouhin. His winemaking at Ayres completes his circle of wine experience from retailer to distributor to producer.
Bright as a ray of sunshine, the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc brings ripe passionfruit, jasmine flowers, and gravel minerality on the nose. Fresh tropical fruit and fragrant jasmine notes meld with tart apples and sweet lemon on a palate beaming with energetic acidity. The smoothly woven texture completes the mouthful, flowing into a mouthwatering finish of juicy lime, lemon zest, savory galangal, and charm. 234 cases produced.
The color is golden with fine delicate bubbles and with aroma and taste of both yellow stone fruit and ripe pear, crushed apples with the freshness, minerality and acidity intact and with a long dry finish in the aftertaste. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay – Organic Farming. Clay and limestone soils. Vinified methode champenoise.
WE93 Dark purple flowers and tart boysenberry paste show on the nose of this intensely concentrated wine, alongside pencil shavings, bay lead and a lot of iron minerality. More bay leaf and pine needle show on the herbally full and texturally grippy palate, giving minty spice to the dark fruit flavors
Designed to be much more than a simple quaffer, roughly 50% of the juice was native fermented in older oak barrels with the balance raised in stainless steel to balance texture with freshness. We put as much work and thought into our Rosé as we would any of our other more “serious” wines and the final result skews more towards chillable red territory than super pale pink or white wine substitute. 300 cases.
88% Pinot Noir | 7% Syrah | 5% Grenache
An expressive, lively Sancerre Blanc that captures everything we love about Sauvignon Blanc from this historic region in the Loire Valley! Limes and lemons, crushed oyster shells, a dash of white pepper, plenty of ripe yet balanced white fruit. Very fine.
