Warmer temperatures and sipping on wine make the perfect combination. While summer calls for more al fresco dining, we have curated the ultimate wine set that meets the needs for those warm summer nights. This wine set includes 6 wines that are refreshing, crisp and unique:
Murgo Metodo Classico Terre Siciliane Brut Rosé
VIN92 A pretty display of fresh roses and wild strawberries and hints of raw almond waft up from the 2019 brute rosé Metodo Classico. This is finely sculpted and precise, with streamlined acidity guiding its silken bubbles cross the palate, as richer notes of apricot and baked pear build toward the close. It leaves a coating of primary fruits under an air of pretty inner florals, while tapering off long and lightly structured.
Serge Laloue ‘Marie du Lac’ Sancerre Blanc AC
Rich, yet delicate notes of citrus, grapefruit and peach along with toasted almond, limestone and flinty hints. Rounded, mouthfilling texture with real depth while still remaining bright and refreshing.
Henri Gaillard Cotes de Provence Rosé
WSI92 From the Côtes De Provence wine region, Henri Gaillard 2020 a dry and vibrant southern French rosé produced from Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah grapes. Enticing on the nose with pink florals, fine herbs and strawberry aromas, medium-bodied and fresh on the palate with red berry fruit, cherry, rhubarb, dried herbs and a fresh citrusy finish.
El Enemigo (Bodegas Aleanna) Mendoza Chardonnay
JS96 WA93+ The 2019 Chardonnay is elegant and subtle, seamless and integrated, with moderate alcohol and great freshness, finishing dry and very tasty. 2019 was a very healthy vintage, and the grapes achieved 13.5% alcohol while keeping very high acidity, which makes the palate vibrant and lively. It was produced with grapes from Gualtallary and that always adds extra freshness when picked at the right time.
Domaine Nico ‘Grand Père’ Mendoza Pinot Noir
JS94 WA93 Aromas of dried violets, currants, sour cherries, porcini mushrooms, cocoa and lemon zest. It’s full-bodied with tight, fine-grained tannins framing chewy layers of spiced, dried and ripe fruit. It’s very Burgundian, with moderate alcohol and ripeness and silky tannins. 9,330 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2020.
Casa Lapostolle Colchagua Valley Rosé
JS92 Very attractive sliced peach and hints of cherry and watermelon in the nose and palate. Medium body. Fruity and fresh. Clean and pale pink color, with salmon shades. Nose is elegant and delicate with notes of red fruit aromas such as strawberry and sweet cucumber along with subtle herbal notes. The palate is refreshing, light with nice acidity, with a long lasting finish.
